1 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup unsalted butter
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup caramel chips
½ cup chocolate chips
½ teaspoon flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the caramel chips and optional chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each dough ball.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are still soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For the best texture, make sure the butter is softened to room temperature and do not overmix the dough after adding the flour.
